My goal was not a universal archiver to compete with StuffIt & WindZip:
As I set up serendipity_downloader.htm, I asked myself, "will there come a time in the evolution of Revolution that I can place one download on my ftp site that can be decompressed by any Revolutionist on any platform?"
If someone doesn't come up with something better in the meantime, I'll get around to it. At this point, my inclination is to look further into Alex's concept of a stack as a wrapper for an archive.
