Um, I give up. I thought a simple

on commandkeydown k
     if k = q then doquit
end commandkeydown

in the mainstack would work, nope. I have not worked out my menubar yet,but I 
didnt think I need one for simple quiting via keyboard within a standalone. 
Obviouslly am doing something wrong.   please, some light. :)
