A year or two ago there was a thread about this. There was a solution for Windows
machines (Thanks Ken!) and a possible solution for Macs, using the system profiler.
My Mac 10.3 does not list the cd's serial number (just a blank line)
Also the system profiler is slow, is there a shell command we could run?
