I hope this information is useful and if anyone has info on the best way to produce icon files for Windows & Mac OS 9, I would be very interested to here it.

Thanks for sharing this Sarah! I use the splash screen method with most of my apps. I always experience the problem of everything launching after building a standalone. I didn't even think to move everything to the startup handler.
