You would think that with the really cool plug in dialog, this would effectively be optional. But if it isn't optional, then I would say that they should behave more like the IDE.

The difficulty with making it optional is that purging a plugin may have unexpected results, just as purging IDE stacks would.


What would be the upside to optionally purging IDE extensions ("plugins")?
