Actually, this happens on Mac OS X as follows:
My main stack has a button marked "Exit". The script is thus:
on mouseUp close this stack end mouseUp
Truly simple. No other stacks are open. Clicking the button closes the stack window, but *does not* quit the application.
I also intercept and "pass" both closeStackRequest and shutdownRequest. Clicking on the window's close box yields
the correct behavior (the application quits).
