It doesn't say anything about being identical to OS X's metrics, and I don't need them to be. The APIs referenced (there is a URL in the BZ entry for that bug) make TTF *screen* and *printer* metrics identical under Windows (effectively eliminating the need for formatForPrinting when using TTFs exclusively, a restriction which suits me just fine).

There is at least one serious shortcoming with Rev's current printing system under Windows (refer to bug 2520, an enhancement request relating to this).
Rev's printing system works OK for some kinds of printouts, but not for others. I am down to implementing an external which directly accesses the win32 printing APIs at this point in order to do one specific type of printout that I need for my project.

Which Win API will make their font metrics identical to OS X's? Or do I misunderstand BZ#2520?

Dan Friedman had a different issue related to line widths, but I couldn't find it in BZ. Dan, what's the #?
