Kevin, thanks for the information. I'll look into MCISendString. What puzzles me however is that it seems the app will play MP3 without QuickTime in some situations - eg on a bog-standard PC running normal Windows XP - but not in another - ie my target device running XP Embedded. Can you shed any light on this? (BTW this is quite a fun project, and Rev is performing splendidly well. If we make it out of prototype and into deployment, I look forward to giving Rod a case study.)
