The less external files the better :-)
Maybe.
The engine's already 2MB in size. Until RR plans to have some sort of
modular code base in which we could toss features we're not using from
our standalones, I'm very conscious about the size of the executable.
The XML and DB externals are indeed both embedded into the engine on
Linux in engines 2.5 ...
...loadable shared libraries).
In terms of the growing size of the engine then I share Richard's
concerns in this area -
OK, just a thought :-)
indeed, we are acutely aware of this issue and
have been actively researching solutions to it.
"Modules" would be fine as Richard suggested ;-)
