Day 1: Heaven and Earth, Light/Darkness (Day/Night)
Day 2: Sky
Day 3: Land, Seas, Plants
Day 4: Sun, Moon, Stars
Day 5: Sea Creatures, Birds
Day 6: Land Animals, Man
Day 7: God rested (creation took six days); this is what set the pattern of the "sabbath," a day of rest.
So if God did any diving during the week of creation (who knows?), he waited until the end of the week ;-)
