Oh, and I almost forgot (well, actually I did...)
You should probably also right-click the taskbar, click "Task Manager", and go to the "Performance" tab to check the statistics presented there as far as memory usage.
The "Commit Charge" stats are the more important ones for determining whether or not you are running out of swap space.

As a fellow Mac user you may find this to be a bit backwards, unless you have a fairly thorough understanding of paged memory management...
Go to System Properties (right-click the "My Computer" icon and click "Properties"), and look for "Performance Options" under the "Advanced" tab.
At least, that's where it is under w2k, don't have XP in front of me at the moment...

How much is "plenty"?
Even OS X will start misbehaving if available space on a disk gets down to about 15% of total space. Windows can be more finicky, and it's my understanding that swap space can fluctuate (along with Trash space and other OS uses).
How do you check the swap settings (I'm a Mac guy.. Windows always has me baffled).
Right-click "My Computers", choose Properties
