Couldn't you just have an invisible cursor, and an image that kept itself at the exact location of the cursor at all times? That way, the "cursor" could be anything you want.
The image dragging scripts that I have used (adapted from scripts posted
on this list) seem to work quite well.
The problem with this approach is that the image won't appear outside of Revolution windows.
