Actually it worked as expected but I wanted to check here first on the 'right' way to do it since it did seem like it should not work. It may just be that the first time around in the repeat it was lSeq and item 1 was not that so it worked then the next time it was an actual item.
So just to be sure, I should declare the lSeq local as a Local then it will be "" or empty but not lSeq ? Seems right.

on handler.... if item 1 is not among the lines of lSeq then .... end if end handler.....

It should be, yes. It will just be FALSE, since lSeq is empty.
