As documented, secureMode is said to be impossible to turn off once
turned on.
Right, and the Player ships with secureMode turned on by default. But
you can click the RR icon in the upper right corner of the player window
to get a preferences dialog. The bottom checkbox turns off secureMode.
Quit and relaunch the Player to make it effective.
You can turn secureMode back on at any time, relaunch the Player, and it
will again open in secureMode. You cannot change secureMode without
relaunching, however.
