It was my problem all along. I was trying to make standalone
applications, and must have had one still active. I tried to drag a
Tool onto the application, not onto the stack, so Rev beeped at me. My
fault, I guess, although the beep was less than helpful.

So, suddenly, I can do NOTHING at all with the IDE. Frustrating.
