It still seems to me that a "stop searching" button on this window would be a welcome addition, unless it can be made to work so fast that none would be necessary.

The reason for no 'stop searching' button, is that typically searches are so fast you don't need to have such a function. In fact, *when working properly*, I've never had more than a couple seconds of searches, even when searching through 50,000 lines of code.
