I too disagree with your request/demand that the reference guide be
a tutorial as well.

Well, it's not a demand. I want Rev to succeed, and I think better
and more extensive documentation will help them do that. It could be
critically important, though that's just an educated guess.
I don't mean to suggest that the reference guide should be a
tutorial. I mean to suggest that it should be an adequate reference
guide, at minimum, and preferably an excellent reference guide.
You're right about not making it overly complicated. The first few
approximations on the way to adequate would only require
supplementation of the existing reference format. That might be all
that is necessary for excellent.
