Good reason =P!

Is there a good reason why using the "select" command has to be simulated by dragging the select tool in order to make a copy? Wouldn't this fail for anything offscreen, invisible, or layered?

Yep,

Yours won't copy the image to the clipboard for pasting into another
(different) program.

Chipp,
Any reason why this:
on copyToClip pImage
  choose select tool
drag from topleft of image pImage to botright of image pImage
  copy
  choose browse tool
end copyToClip
can't be just:
on copyToClip pImage
  select image pImage
  copy
  choose browse tool
end copyToClip
