Not quite - you'd need "%8.2f",statRound(aNum, 2)        :-)

And there is a lot of scope for confusion and/or error if some subsequent edit changes one of the two precision numbers without making the corresponding change in the other "%8.2f", statRound(aNum, 1) will give incorrect values with 0s at the end "%8.2f", statRound(aNum, 3) will give incorrect values with the wrong rounding method.

So although it works to use statRound, I think it's noticeably better to have it built-in to "format".
