I used libUrlSetFtpMode "active"
and everything works perfectly. - THANKS
Interestingly, the second webhost I set up this morning still would not
accept them even with active mode on so this probably won't work for
everyone but ( entering selfish mode) I can get some sleep tonight.
Hope I can return the favour sometime
