Me, too. But I can't help feeling that just because Apple might stop putting firewire into iBooks, it doesn't mean it'll disappear from the 'pro' machines.
You're not running PT off an iBook, after all... :)

I've got a major investment in Firewire. What the hell are they thinking??? I mean they invented it!!

I do major Pro Tools HD work, and my only access to drives is by firewire, as I've scuttled all SCSI peripherals.

Looks like FireWire's on the way out... there's been talk for some
time now about USB 2.0 replacing even FireWire 800 as the emerging
standard.
