Hi Scott,
About SQLite, another demo stack on sqlite has just been added to the
education gallery:
<http://revolution.lexicall.org/stacks_education.php>
(under SQLite, middle of the page).
Of interest to anybody who already knows a little about MySQL
syntax. It's not as elaborate as Chipp's one but it's free and open
source.
It presents an interface very similar to the one found in phpMyAdmin
(which let you manage your mysql databases from your webserver) and
let you enter sql queries. Some help file is provided as well.
Ideal for the ones who want to learn MySQL syntax but are not
comfortable about doing it on a server.

Hi Michael,
Rather than dive into mySQL or altSQLite, (I am a Newbie), I
was directed to look at Custom Property Sets in order to use
the 'internal databse' of Revolution to store information.
Are you a Rev newbie or a programming newbie? I ask because if
the former altSQLite is really a good mix. The demo Altuit
supply (written by Chipp) shows you much of what needs doing,
but I also made a little stack and passed it on to Chipp
that shows you how to do some other stuff not covered in the
tutor (like loading fields with data from the database and
synching them to a table field so you can scroll the dataset
and keep the fields updated). The stack also shows how to do
data entry type work with AltSQLite such as inserting data from
a field(s), editing data using fields etc. Check with Chipp
if you want a copy. I can't supply one direct because I only
have a user code and not Altuit demo code to operate the sample
stack.
Scott
