Well, I've forgotten the original request of this thread, but the reactions of my students to the Mac OS voices is that they are wayy cool (remember, however, that they are developing apps for kiddies and also working on game dev, so maybe goofy, time-warped voices are what is called for in our particular situation).
Doesn't AT&T have some nice, cross-plat voices? Or, at least, Win voices? Probably not free, though...
