Right, and with moral indignation one might not have the extra (emotional) moral cost of violating an agreement or stealing or sinning or dishonoring the state or whatever. (Of course, some of us believe actual guilt is independent of guilty feelings.)

That cost is a part of the cost of cracking and part of the economics of cracking. To minimize the chance of cracking, keep the cost high and the benefit low. And keep below the radar.
