Hi Richard
I haven't tried these but I heard about & bookmarked them after I had
manually tweaked my system..
http://www.litepc.com/xplite.html
http://www.nliteos.com
http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/
Also last I checked there are a multitude of system tweaking apps out
there for xp & other systems.
regards
alex

Chipp,
I don't. I typically get rid of Norton or McAffee anti-virus,
scanning, systemworks stuff. Just kill it all. Then I install the free
version of AVG anti-virus which has always worked just great for me.
I delete anything and everything which in not directly related to the
control/performance/use of the PC. I download and install FireFox and
set it as the default browser.
How does one know what can be deleted and what can't? You say you delete
everything not related to control/performance/use, but how you do know
what is what? Is there a program or web site out there that provides
this information?
Thanks.
Richard
