Perhaps your field doesn't contain a number with a length of 4? I
tried this in the message box:
put matchtext("1234","[0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9]")
and got true returned.

if it is true then ......
Is this the right way to check for numerics, and if
so, what have I done wrong ?
