Um, Andre, Apple and Quicktime:
Apple (unlike the image it sometimes tries to present
to its public) is a business largely interested in
making money - and, as such, has to listen to what
customers want . . .
Runtime Revolution is also a business . . .
Businesses like RR can, at least to a certain extent,
have a much larger effect on other companies suc as
Apple, than either Thee or me.
SO:
Were companies like RR to "make noises" at Apple that
some sort of 'real' (rather than "QT for Linux")
version of Quicktime be made available by Apple for
Linux - it might happen.
As Mac OS is underpinned by UNIX, presumably porting
Quicktime to Linux should not be an uphill task - just
one that needs some financial motivation.
sincerely, Richmond Mathewson
