I think Kersten must have the "move sub-stacks into separate stack
file" option set in the standalone builder.
On OS X, at least, this saves the substacks as separate files
(obviously) within the application bundle.
These stacks are indeed modifiable by the standalone, but are not
actual sub-stacks as they are in the IDE, though it kind of makes
sense to still call them sub-stacks, since in development they were.
