Sorry about that! Pushed the wrong button. Eyes are getting droopy. Anyway, it's nice to see that Rev has bumped the stacksInUse number up to 50 for standalone applications.

In HC, we were limited to 10 stacks

Many of my xcmds were done in Compilit as well as HyperBasic. HyperBasic was chosen because they had really good serial port hooks to the toolbox. I also used Pittman's PrintReport, the only xcmds that gave one complete control of printing functions. At one point, thanks to Genie, I amassed almost 750 xcmds.

There really is not much need for a Compilit with Rev, although someone could write one I suppose, but the truth is, the speed of Transcript coupled with today's processors screams.

At any rate, most or all of the xcmds you used to use with HC will not work, unless you restrict yourself to system 9, and still I doubt they'd work. Rinaldi does have some online, or script equivalents.

"Transcript being so fast, some externals has been rewritten using it. Those are now checkmarked in a new "RR" column appearing in the XCMD Collection list. You simply have to copy the script to your stack in order to have all your existing calls
to the external work identically, including original parameters."

Mr. Rinaldi should be in the X-Talk hall of Fame. He's contributed a lot.
He posts here sometimes...

I have hundreds of XCMDs and XFCNs that I created using CompileIt that enabled me to number crunch very fast, even with an SE30, in HC. I haven't come to a conclusion as to whether these Externals can be put into a Library and called directly from Rev Stacks or not. Lots to read. At least I'm doing it on a Mac.
