Thanks Chipp. That works great at small sizes, but like the variants
I've been experimenting with as soon as you bump up the image sizes to
1025x768 it's prohibitively slow.
It would seem that somewhere in Core Image is a KB effect, since it's
used in iPhoto, the built-in screen saver, and perhaps elsewhere. Since
those work on random images, they're not pre-rendered, but apparently
done on the fly with a highly-optimized routine.....
