Sorry Joe, polling is just plain bad practice and could interfere with other messaging code. Rev gives plenty of ways to deal with messages that one should never have to use idle.

By and large, I would not put this in the category of "polling"; since nothing can be done while the mouse is down anyway. That's just the way it is. Now, if this repeat loop was being used in a mouseup handler, then it would be "polling" because all sorts of things can take place once the mouse button is released. So, I wouldn't feel badly about using this. Even fairly slow machines are going to react in exactly the same manner. They're just waiting for the user to make up her mind. (smile)
