I just copied this from the online documentation of Trevors wonderful
EnhancedQT External:

function qtGetTrackFrameCount (MovieControllerID, TrackIndex)
Description:
Returns the number of frames in video track.
Parameters:
MovieControllerID: Target Movie Controller ID.
TrackIndex: Video track index. Default is 1.
Return:
Number of frames or -1 on error.
...
So it looks like Trevor already took care of this :-)
