Nope. This didn't fix it either. Same behavior.

well then, I think there must be something else going on.
I just reread your original post and see that you wrote:

The only way I can catch a Quit is to put a on shutdownRequest
handler in the stack. My application contains several instances of
the stack and I check to see if the stack needs to be saved.

What do you mean by 'several instances of the stack' ?
