I have worked with the script debug a little bit.

The way I get it to work is. Select script debug. You can choose witch
handler you want from the pop up buttons. If you click the line of the
handler it turns red. Leave the script debug window open. If you do
something that calls the handler it stops. Then you can check your code. I
found if I click the on handler statement and the next line has the -- it
does not work. I have to click the next line.

I wish it was a little bit more like hypercard where you just comment the
line. Then when the handler gets to that line it just pops up. It does have
a few more features then hypercard does.

My experience. Hope it helps
