Hello, everyone, Welcome to the second incarnation of the Useful Things list. I'd like to thank Alan S. Harrell for graciously hosting this list. Thanks Alan! : ) First, I encourage you to download and install a program named In Control from PC Magazine. In Control records all changes made to a system during the installation process. In Control takes system snapshots and records changes made to your system directory, registry and INI files. A very handy utility to use. It's 824K and can be found here- http://hotfiles.zdnet.com/cgi-bin/texis/swlib/hotfiles/info.html?b=pcm&fcode =000WRX ** Note: The above URL is actually one continuous line and should be entered into your browser's address box as one line. Next, let's start the list with a program that can provide hours of entertainment, if you like playing Solitaire. It's called PySol and here's a description from the author- "PySol is an exciting collection of Solitaire card games. Its features include support for 298 (!) distinct games, very nice look and feel, multiple cardsets and table tiles, sound and background music, unlimited undo & redo, load & save games, player statistics and log files, hint system, demo games, support for user written plug-ins, integrated HTML help browser and lots of documentation." I think that sums it up quite well. : ) The program is 3.61M and can be found here- http://wildsau.idv.uni-linz.ac.at/mfx/pysol/ Last, please visit the Useful Things website, there are several programs listed there, from the previous incarnation of this list, that I think you will enjoy using. Other than Xoom's ad bar across the top I'm not selling anything. You won't find any links for All Advantage or any other system trying to use you to make me money. I created this list for the sole purpose of sharing information about programs I've used and think others would like using. I'll update the website as time allows. Here's the URL- http://members.xoom.com/usefulthings/ Thanks to all of you for subscribing! I promise the next issue will be much shorter as I plan to devote each issue to a single program. One more note... please feel free to suggest programs you find useful. If I like the program I'll feature it and give you a finder's credit. : ) Well, here we go... Enjoy!
