I am looking for information about serialization compatibility across different Avro versions. I was looking for a compatibility matrix kind of information in Avro documentation but did not see one.

Based on the response in the old post since the major version is the same we should be able to do that. But because of the time gap between the old post and now I wonder if anyone has current information about any incompatibility issues or yet to be resolved open issues surrounding any format compatibility between the above two versions. Confirmation that the response from the old post still stands true for versions 1.7.7 and 1.8.2 would be very helpful. Thanks, Sanjay
