Hey everyone,

A couple of months ago, the Bay Area Cassandra User Group had a meetup
hosted by Uber. The response was amazing. Completely booked and lots of
great energy between users of Cassandra. There was a lot of "Hey, can we do
one $here!" where $here is wherever you are.

As many probably know, DataStax was acquired by IBM, and there are many of
us working on utilizing the resources IBM can bring for more community
activities. The first outcome is the NY Cassandra User Group, which will
host a meeting on Wednesday, October 22. If you are in the area, show up
and network with your peers. We need to keep these going, so if you are in
the area and want to give a talk, let us know! Here's the link to RSVP:

And! Just to keep the energy going, the IBM offices in Chicago said they
would love to host a user group. If you are in that area and would be
willing to share a bit about how you use Cassandra, get in touch. It would
be great to see more of you out there.

If you want to help with a user group wherever you are, I will be happy to
help there, too. We have a lot of users worldwide, and we need to get
together!

Patrick
