the slide plugin isn't so easy to handle and apparently Ross' page is broken.
You may see if FOR-567 helps: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FOR-567 I worked with the plugin a while ago (hard to remember what I actually did) but have you tried to get it running locally? I may give more advice if you have more specific questions ... otherwise I'll have to dig deep into some long forgotten files. Good luck!
