DataMapper-1.6.1 was released 6 April 2007. And the last change in /ibatis/trunk/cs/mapper/IbatisNet.DataMapper/Proxy/LazyLoadLoadProxy was at 4 January 2007 "Allow lazy load on simple class" then at DataMapper-1.6.1 Lazy Load for single class should work. >> Sandy Young Try to add an empty contructor to proxified class (in your case "Subj" class) and mark virtual the method and properties that you want triger lazy load.
