Getting kind of philosophical here... On 11/5/05, Alan Chandler <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Wow - thank you very much. You know...I have been wondering about that, too. I keep reading more and more about people using Hibernate with (struts/jsf/blah/whatever) on the lists that I am on, and I find myself wondering two things. The first is this: Are we seeing these messages because Hibernate is more difficult (i.e., people need help to implement) or becuase there are more people using it? By that, I mean are we seeing the "noisy minority" here? Having tried Hibernate before settling into iBATIS..I know my opinion on the matter. ;-) The second thing I find myself asking is why are we seeing so many ports of iBATIS into other languages...but not Hibernate? Where is the PHP version of hibernate? How about Ruby? I know there is NHibernate, but from what I have seen, it is not used nearly as much as iBATIS.NET is. Now, all of this could just be my perspective - I am in the iBATIS world, so I see iBATIS everywhere, but I do not think that is all there is too it. I keep waiting to see the JavaScript version to pop up with all the hype surrounding AJAX. ;-) OK, I need to get back to work now. :) Larry
