Depends... autocommit on or not... off it will rollback unless you explicitly commit. And iBATIS when using the default implementations will even do an explicit rollback.
A good book to read once in a while when your working with Oracle is the "Oracle Concepts Guide", it comes with the Oracle documentation. The thing to look for in there for your problem is "versioning".
