Shouldn't it be: SimpleDateFormat sf = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss"); java.util.Date date = sf.parse("2008-01-01 00:00:00"); uBean.setDateOfBird(date); sqlMap.insert("insertUser", *uBean*);
