I am trying to insert the following statement using iBatis:
insert into
ARTICLE_EXTENDED_TEXT
(
AET_ART_ID, AET_HEADING_TEXT, AET_PRODUCT_DESC_TEXT,
AET_PRODUCT_DESC_URL
)values(
#artID#, #artHeadingText#, #artProductDescText#,
#artProductDescURL#
)
The clue here is #artProductDescText#, which is the text bellow (in
norwegian). I get an data truncation exception when inserting this in the
database. I know that truncation error normaly means that the data is too
long, so I would like to stress that this is not the case here. The column
is "AET_PRODUCT_DESC_TEXT" and has mysql type "text". The problem is
encoding, cause if I remove the norwegian letters (æøå) and replace them
with english letters, it works.
So my question is: how do I specify the encoding when inserting to the
database (or reading from the database for that sake as well) using iBatis?
