I asked Vesa about it. This is his reply:

It will be like your current dual processor computer. In a normal modeling
situation, one thread draws real time graphics and another thread monitors
user input, updates the GUI etc. It is hard to achieve 100 % processor load
unless you do particularly time consuming modeling actions. If you use
several viewports, the processor load  and ultilization rate will probably
get higher.

I would expect that after all, you get more performance out of a dual core
system. I also like multi processor systems more because they response
better in a multitasking situations (switch of an application, etc.). XP is
not that comfortable to use with a single cpu. Anyway, this is my personal
opinion, based on my own experience.
