Got it. The material indeed has to be mapped to only part of a surface or it won't show anything at all. This is probably the reason why it doesn't show up in the material preview window either. Thanks for the rescale tip.

Hi Frank,

My material worked after I rescaled the material bounding boxes to smaller than the object. Also, for SDS rectangles, a non-colour has to be assigned before variations can show.

Hi Arjo,

Would you mind to mail your color tile material to me? I've tried it on 3 different machines with rs3d installed. None of them produce anything but white surfaces. My version of rs3d is the latest I believe, 5.1 sp2 rel 05.01.54, clean install.

Frank

I've got random colortiles when I use that material without problems, so it's probably not the material but something else.
Arjo.

Subject: no more random color tiles

Hi,

Does anyone know what is wrong with the random color tile material from the VSL library? Despite it's name it produces just a plain white surface :( Has something changed in VSL?
