Markus, I am not sure about why the nurbs plane did not work, but for SDS objects the type in the "Rendering" section under the "Spec" tab, in the Properties window, needs to be set to "Smoothen to NURBS". If this is not it, post the file or attach a small version of it? I am sure we can get this working for you :) Zaug
