What you could do otherwise is encode it using the entirely free and
open source, and much more prevalent, Xvid codec. Not that I have any
problems as mplayer (Linux) seems to support everything under the sun,
but it's a newer codec and you'll probably get better compression out
of it as well. I'm pretty sure there should be a precompiled version
out there somewhere.
