G'day Mark -
Thanks, and to prove I'm back here's my own version of a rooftile
material, completely from scratch :)
WOW ! Suddenly we are spoilt for choice ! :P
Had a quick play - love the colour variations, curves are great.. But
something was niggling at me that I could not quite place.. Checked the
product range at boral :
http://www.boral.com.au/Article/Roofing_Valente_Consumer.asp
And it struck me whats wrong - the tiles are laid out in a regular grid!
Tiles are typically offset on the next row (same as bricks) Which yours
and arjo's material do not take into account..
One other 'nice to have' component of a tile material would be to have a
non regular displacement profile (OK so I am probably getting back to
using an image map to displace) but check out a "typical" roof tile that
they use here and you will see the profile of the tile is not consistent
in the X and Y:
http://www.boral.com.au/Article/shaped_terracotta_profile_specs.asp
Then as arjo had done in his initial material - as with any tile roof
you have a ridge capping tile as well..
At any rate - my 2c worth guys - great work at any rate !
Regards
Bernie
