Hello List. I waited for Chrono for a long time and juimped at the chance
to work with it. I have had it for a couple weeks now and have only begun
to use it, but I am encouraged.
I am not a professional user, but love dabbling with replicating physical
simulations using RealSoft3D. Chrono bumped it up to a completly new level.
It is very easy to get started with the available tutorials.
I have made a trebuchet that looks pretty neat, but not as good as the one
that was show here on the list earlier. I also made a small rocket work
against gravity while ramping up a thrust that is great fun to work with as
I learn how to use chrono.
I need more time to play. Real life keeps me away.
I'll try to post animations.

Hi, I sent a request for information about simulating permanent magnets
with 2 attachments (under 1 MB) to this list and to Alessandra and it was
not posted here and no response from DeltaKnowledge. I'm hoping someone
can write a JS to make permanent magnets for Chrono. The problem with
Magnetism in RS is that one magnet can only interact with one other magnet
(not with many other magnets ... nor will RS work with many magnets
interacting with many magnets).
I'm currently working on animating a complex stick/skeleton structure in
RS which may end up in Chrono. Matthias Kappenberg is helping lots. Yes,
I'll write a tutorial when it is finished.
There's lots to learn in Chrono and translating from the manual to my
needs requires lots of trial and error and hair pulling and teeth gnashing
as well as lots of guessing. Learning hurts. I'd sure like to see
Permanent Magnet on the Tool Bar with Neodymium as one of the options. I
know it's a little early for the wish list but since there is so much
there it seems that it wouldn't take much to write the JS to make it
happen. There is so much very useful mechanical simulation that it will
take some time to get used to the UI etc. One such difficulty I found is
placing the chain links (spherical) can only be achieved by bringing them
into the Input Plane and then moving them to positions off the IP if needs
be. Using the Measuring System to place them in space would surely be
simpler if possible. But ... what a nice package for a plug-in ... and the
price is a gift compared to the competition.
Cheers, Chuck Henry

Subject: No Word on Chrono !
Hi List :
Seems odd to me that Chrono is finally released and there
has not been a single mail that talks about Chrono a little
bit .
Looks like a couple of people have actually purchased it ,
but can anyone talk about their experiences so far ? Looked
in the forum but no threads there either .
Seems very odd that such an event would not generate a barage
of mails .
Very strange .
