Great image archive, beats any computer generated imagery!

not really , :

Hi Mark . I think I understand what you are trying to say .
To experience the actual wonder is far beyond what any 3D
Imax movie theatre can _currently_ offer of course .

Yeah, it was a kind of pointless statement from me... it's of course not about a competition between reality and CG or other art, but sometimes the 'real stuff' is so overwhelmingly complex and beautiful it almost makes me feel humble. Almost ;)

However , the APOD 2D (and 3D-Stereo) archive can and will be
easily outdone by talented artists using S/W such as RS3D .

I'll have to check that out!

Anyway if you get a chance rent "Mission To Mars" HD-DVD .

Cinefex readers go http://www.cinefex.com/index/81-01.html

Some loved it - most did not . The particle effects and
camera-matching was incredible for 2000 . Some also found
the plot incredible too .

    but me
      maybe just
           that's

garry

Saw it on DVD, the particle effects are awesome indeed!

But I prefer any movie by Aki Kaurismäki, no special effects whatsoever - the best Finnish export product next to RS3d ;)

as always: thanks for the links,
